Ozatom head Azim Ahmadkhojayev answered the question about the price of electricity produced at the NPP. He stated that he could not give exact information about the final price, but it would not exceed 1000-1100 soums per kWh.
The price of electricity produced at an integrated nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan will be below 1,000 soums per kWh. Director of Atomic Energy Agency Azim Ahmadkhojayev informed about this reported Spot.
“We have a step-by-step approach. I would not talk about the exact price now, but I can say that it is within the average parameters of the current tariffs for (electricity),” Ahmadkhojayev said.
The head of “Ozatom” said that the development of the country’s electricity market, including the creation of a single regulator of the energy and utility sector announced in January of this year, is taken into account when setting tariffs.
“Yes, we have economic calculations for now, but I can’t say exactly what it will be like when the first electricity is delivered,” Ahmadkhojayev said.
“No, of course, it will be lower,” replied the head of Ozatom to the Spot reporter’s question whether the price of electricity produced at the NPP will exceed 1,000-1,100 soums per kWh.
