The goal is to convert money (is it?) – people are suffering from the Samarkand “work abroad” scheme

In Samarkand, many people are wandering in front of the offices of two companies – “HUMO GROUP CORPARATION” and “HUMO GROUP CENTRAL” – which promised to send them to work abroad. They said that despite the expiration of the six-month period specified in the contract, the firm is still extending the time with the answer “wait”. It’s interesting: outside people are saying “give us our money”, inside there is a contract with new customers.

Kun.uz learned the details of the incident.

Bekzod Abdulloyev, one of the victims, said that a contract was made to go to Canada in order to work with “HUMO GROUP CORPARATION” LLC. However, the company did not fulfill any conditions within the specified six-month period.

“I became suspicious of their activities and filed a complaint asking them to return my money. They treated me rudely and even insulted me. After that, I contacted the law enforcement agencies. But so far there has been no result, the authorities are not returning the money because they can’t do anything,” he said.

    The “power” of advertising

Among the applicants, there are not only people from Samarkand, but also people from Khorezm, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya and other regions.

One of the citizens from the Khorezm region said that he submitted a family document for a work visa to Germany. According to him, payment was made for three family members based on an advertisement distributed through Instagram.

“We submitted the document on November 6, 2025. It’s been seven months, after we asked, only one online interview was held. It was also held in Russian. But I did not believe that the interview was really with an employer in Germany,” says Murodbek Hajiyev.

He said that according to the contract, there should have been an interview within three months. But the interview was organized within six months. Now it is not possible to call the company’s call center.

“I have traveled 700 kilometers. There is no other answer than to say, “Wait.” If we ask to return the money, they say, “2,300,000 soums will be withheld.” Why? They broke the contract, not me,” he said.

Another applicant from Surkhandarya says that he was in the same situation. According to them, the firm promised a refund if the visa was not issued within six months.

“On April 6, we wrote an application to return the money. The contract states that it should be returned in 10 working days. But now it has exceeded 40 working days. Every time we come, they extend it for another month,” says Mahmud Shodiyev.

Among the petitioners are parents who took out loans to pay for sending their children abroad.

“My son paid 14 million soums. They said he would leave in three months. We waited for seven months, but nothing happened. Then he went abroad through another agency. And the people here kept saying, ‘We will put it on your card.'”

Another applicant says that her husband took out a loan to pay the firm.

“My husband borrowed the money. Then, when the job didn’t work out, he went to work in Russia. Now the person who gave the loan is asking for money. And we can’t get the money back from here,” she said.

Online chats themselves are being questioned

Another aspect that makes the applicants suspicious is the online interviews with the “foreign employer”.

Some citizens believe that all these processes may have been controlled by the agency itself.

“I work in the medical field. I can speak Russian fluently. But they said, ‘You didn’t pass the interview.’

Another resident says that he was told to “take a video of yourself putting putty at home, and we will add it to it.”

“I dropped the video. Then they said you passed. I don’t know how legal it is,” he said.

    Two firms, one leader

Kun.uz also studied information about these companies. According to Orginfo.uz, “HUMO GROUP CORPARATION” was registered on June 24, 2025, and “HUMO GROUP CENTRAL” was registered on August 4, 2025.

Both are located in the same neighborhood and on the same street in Samarkand district. It is still working side by side.

The most interesting thing is that the head of both companies is the same person: Sherali Otaqulov Obloqul’s son. Although the founders are different, the leader is the same, the addresses are close, and the activities are similar, naturally increasing the questions. The petitioners consider these two to be “one system” in practice.

Refunds will be made, not sure when…

Kun.uz reporters also spoke with company officials. Bekzod Bekmirzayev, who introduced himself as a case manager, commented on the situation.

“We fill out the customer’s questionnaires, translate their documents and post them on job ads on the Internet. If there is no response from the employer, the customer can cancel the contract after six months and get his money back,” said the official.

He also confirmed that the contract stipulates that the money will be returned within 10 working days. However, the question of why people are not able to receive money on a monthly basis is not clearly answered.

“There may not be enough funds in the account now. But everyone’s money will be returned,” said Bekzod Bekmirzayev.

    IIB received many applications

While Kun.uz reporters were at the scene, law enforcement officers also arrived. According to the IIB officer in charge of the area, many appeals have been received against these companies.

New applications were received at the same place.

This story is not over yet. Because here it is not only about money. It is about people’s trust, hope and destiny.

Kun.uz sent a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan to get an official response to this situation.
