More than half of the drivers in Norway say that their next car will be an electric car. This was reported by the association of car owners in that country, but the reason is rising fuel prices.
Norway is the largest oil producer in Europe, after Russia, but at the same time is already a leader in electric cars, which account for over 95 percent of new registrations.
Rising fuel prices since the outbreak of war in the Middle East at the end of February have convinced even more drivers to switch.
In April, 51 percent of drivers surveyed said their next car would be an electric car, according to the association.
In the same month last year, the number was only 46 percent, and the organization describes the increase as “the biggest jump in several years.”
