There is no money in the account of the Municipality of Budva to pay salaries to more than 700 employees in local administration, services, and cultural institutions that are on the city’s coffers.
As “Vijesti” was confirmed by several sources, the account is still blocked, after the public bailiff issued a decision last week on the compulsory collection of almost five million euros in compensation, which was ruled by the High Court to be paid to the heirs of the Rafailović family, in the name of the nationalized land on Cape Zavala.
This is the first time in the past year and a half since the city was governed by the “Budva our city” coalition, the European Union with the support of the Democratic Party of Socialists, that salary payments were not made on the first of the month.
Unofficially, “Vijesti” was told that in the next two days it would be possible to get out of the blockade and start the payment then.
The city authorities projected this year’s budget at a record 79 million euros, of which 21 million euros of unspent money was transferred from last year.
