Martyr Al-Hafiz, May 5, 2026 (SPS) – Today, Monday, Mrs. Laura Boldrini, head of the Permanent Subcommittee on Human Rights in the Italian House of Representatives, arrived at the Ministry of Occupied Territories and Communities.
She was received at the Ministry’s headquarters by the Minister of the Occupied Territories and Communities, Muhammad Al-Mami Al-Tamak, who welcomed the delegation and appreciated the visit, describing it as an important one as she is a distinguished figure known for her activity, positions, and defense of human rights.
The meeting discussed a number of topics related to human rights, such as the conditions of Sahrawi political detainees in Moroccan prisons, the suffering of their families, the conditions of Sahrawi workers and women in the occupied territories, and Sahrawi students studying in Moroccan universities.
For her part, the head of the Human Rights Commission expressed her concern about the situation of Sahrawi political detainees in Moroccan prisons, as well as Sahrawi women, and the violations they are exposed to by the Moroccan security services, stressing that she will do her utmost to visit the occupied territory and closely monitor the violations to which the Sahrawis are subjected.
She added that she and the Human Rights Commission will work to put pressure on the Italian government to impose a solution that is consistent with international legitimacy and requires self-determination for the Sahrawi people.
