The governor of Herat demanded the expansion of economic and trade relations with Iran.
Herat governor’s press office announced: In the meeting between Herat governor Islam Jar and Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Herat, Alireza Marhamati, bilateral cooperation in economic, commercial and agricultural fields was discussed and exchanged.
Welcoming the expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, Islam Jar emphasized the need for greater cooperation of the Consul General of Iran in the development of economic, transit and trade relations through the Islam Qala border crossing, Khawf-Herat railway line, Abu Nasr Farahi crossing and Silk Bridge crossing in Nimroz province.
Although the export and import of Iran and Afghanistan are carried out through the border crossings of Islam Qala, Abu Nasr Farahi, Silk Bridge and Khawaf-Herat railway, according to reports, more than 50% of trade transactions are conducted through the border crossing of Islam Qala in Herat province.
