From June 1 to 7, Uzbekistan’s agriculture will face tests of hot weather and hail at the same time. At the beginning of the week, the temperature will rise to +40 degrees in the south. In the middle of the week, rains with lightning may become active in the valley, Tashkent region and mountainous areas. Floodwaters and strong winds, especially from the mountains, remain the main danger for farmers.
We will analyze the weather forecasts expected during the week live with climatologist Erkin Abdulahatov.
In the regions where the wheat harvest has started, the farmers will have to strengthen their harvesting work so that the crops are not blown away by the clouds. On June 3-5, it may rain in the mountainous areas of Tashkent region, valley regions, Samarkand, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya. It is recommended not to store the crop in open fields for a long time, to make the ditch and collector systems ready for flood waters.
The main danger of the week is not drought, but short-term heavy rains, floods and winds.
