The Egyptian Ambassador to Canada, Ahmed Hafez, confirmed that a state of enthusiasm and momentum is controlling the Egyptian community in Canada, amid high hopes for the continuation of the project. Egypt national team Positive results against New Zealand.
This came during the ambassador’s meeting with the young Egyptian-Canadian Ibrahim El-Sherif, today, Sunday, in Vancouver, where he was chosen among a selected group of young men to participate as the official match ball carrier in the 2026 World Cup.
Egyptian Ambassador Ahmed Hafez expressed his great happiness with the public rally and support around the team, especially since the fans came from various Canadian cities, the United States, Egypt and from all over the world, expressing his feeling of pride at this turnout.
The ambassador stressed that supporting the national team is an honor and a responsibility, praising the great efforts made by the players and the technical staff in the tournament. The Egyptian national team will meet New Zealand at 6:00 Vancouver time in the second round of Group 7 matches.
It is noteworthy that a friendly match was organized yesterday, Saturday, between fans of the Egyptian and New Zealand national teams before the official match, to emphasize the prevailing sportsmanship before the match.
The Egyptian Embassy had begun its preparations early, immediately after the announcement of the national team’s match in Vancouver, in coordination with the Canadian authorities and FIFA to provide the best conditions for the mission.
The “Egyptian Fans March” event is scheduled to start in the streets of Vancouver, in addition to the Pharaohs Fans Festival near the match stadium.
