Chief Justice Zubair Rahman Chowdhury urged the judges to fulfill their judicial duties with honesty, devotion and professionalism in order to overcome the existing limitations of the judicial department and ensure justice to the aspirants.
The chief justice made this call in his address to the members of judicial service working in Dhaka division on Saturday.
Public relations officer of the Supreme Court. According to the press release signed by Shafiqul Islam, Chief Justice Zubair Rahman Chowdhury addressed all members of the judicial service working in the Dhaka Division at the Supreme Court at 10 am on Saturday.
In the event, all District and Sessions Judges, Metropolitan Sessions Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrates and Chief Metropolitan Magistrates in their speeches highlighted the issues of ensuring the financial independence of judges, increasing the budget of the judicial department, solving the urgent need for courtrooms, khaskamaras, record rooms, malkhanas and accommodation-crisis as well as infrastructure development, ensuring the security of courts and judges, digitization and providing necessary logistical support.
The Chief Justice in his address agreed with the statements of the members of the Judicial Service. Along with this, the Chief Justice mentioned that he is working to increase the financial capacity of the judiciary, infrastructural development, digitization, ensuring the safety of judges, local and foreign training of judges, setting up medical centers and day-care centers in every district court, creating and using speech-to-text software and ensuring the necessary facilities for judges.
Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs present as a special guest in the event. Asaduzzaman agreed with the issues raised by the judicial officers. Besides, in his speech, he stressed on the need to improve the infrastructure of the judiciary, ensure the financial independence of the judges and therefore increase the budget allocation for the judiciary.
