The Hanuman temple is located in Yashbari village, 190 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Eyewitnesses said that a part of the roof under construction collapsed at the entrance to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. At 3:30 PM, the roof of the ‘Sabha Mandape’ collapsed. The ‘sabha-mandap’ was being constructed outside the sanctum sanctorum. The building roof slab collapsed suddenly. After receiving the information, the district administration team reached the spot. The rescue team has also arrived. A police official told news agency PTI that the rescue operation is going on under martial law.

Maharashtra minister Meghna Bordikar said, “Rescue teams reached the spot quickly. With the concerted efforts of all, efforts are underway to pull out the pilgrims from the rubble.” He also said that financial assistance will be provided to the families of those who died and those who were injured in the accident.
