Beirut, June 18 (SANA) Syria’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport head Omar Hosari arrived in Beirut on Thursday in a visit aimed at enhancing cooperation and coordination in civil aviation between the two countries.
Hosari told SANA the visit follows an invitation from Lebanese officials and reflects a shared interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in the aviation sector.
He said the discussions are based on a “strategic vision” focused on integration and the exchange of expertise to improve air transport services. Talks will also address ways to enhance air connectivity between Syria and Lebanon and support national carriers in facilitating passenger movement and economic exchange.
According to Hosari, the agenda includes technical issues related to air navigation and airspace management, with an emphasis on improving safety standards, operational efficiency, and future cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The visit follows discussions held in April between Hosari and Lebanese Ambassador to Syria Henry Kastoun on strengthening air navigation links, expanding connectivity, and facilitating passenger and cargo transport between the two countries.
