If the previous years were a healing period for the Hollywoodafter the pandemic and the historic double strike of screenwriters and actors, 2026 looks like the year of the big comeback. But it is not only the number of long-awaited ones films that stands out, but also the gathering of major studios, popular franchises and top creators in the same year, which turns the coming months into a “parade” of cinematic blockbusters.
The film calendar brings to theaters an impressive array of sequels, re-appearances of beloved heroes and blockbusters that have already created high expectations among audiences. THE Christopher Nolan returns with the ambitious film adaptation of “Odyssey“, o Steven Spielberg presents his new venture, the sci-fi thriller “Revelation day“, while the Marvel reunites the Avengers in “Avengers: The Rise of Doctor Doom».
From June until the end of the year, the program gradually takes the form of a continuous film season of high demands, where each month has at least one major title in the spotlight.
Apocalypse Day

Steven Spielberg’s new sci-fi thriller revolves around the sudden appearance of a global phenomenon that confronts humanity with the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Emily Blunt stars as a meteorologist who finds herself at the center of an unexplained situation when she begins to experience strange changes and become connected to a larger, global mystery. Together with a young cyber security expert, played by Josh O’Connor, they attempt to decipher a phenomenon that seems to be beyond the limits of human understanding, while government forces try to keep the truth hidden.
Toy Story 5

Release: June 19
Toys are back in Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 5,” and this time they’re up against technology. Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang are called upon to manage a new and much more demanding challenge, which changes the balance in their world.
The animated film also marks a historic change for the franchise, as it will be the first in the series to receive a PG (Parental Guidance Suggested) rating instead of G (Suitable for All Viewers) like the previous films, due to thematic elements and humor aimed at a slightly older audience. “Toy Story 5” will be released in selected movie theaters in Greece, dubbed, on June 18.
Supergirl

Based on the eight-issue comic book miniseries ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’, the film focuses on Kara Zor-El (Supergirl), who is wandering lost and at a critical crossroads in her life. She feels that her life has no purpose, especially since her cousin, Kal-El (Clark Kent/Superman), no longer needs her protection and has found his own way.
Just as she is about to give up, a young and noble intergalactic warrior, Ruthie Mary Knoll, asks her for help in tracking down those who murdered her father and destroyed her planet.
Viana – Live action

In the live-action remake of the Oscar-nominated film, the eponymous heroine answers the call of the ocean and, for the first time, travels beyond the reef of her island, Motunui, along with the infamous demigod May, on an unforgettable journey to restore the well-being of her people.
Odyssey

His journey turns into an epic course of survival, identity and faith, where every step towards Ithaca is also a confrontation with the limits of man in the face of destiny.
Spider-Man: A New Day

The new “Spider-man” film is Tom Holland’s longest chapter in the leading role, with a duration of 150 minutes, which puts it at the top of the most “extended” films of the franchise. The film continues the story of Peter Parker after the events of No Way Home, in a world where his identity has been forgotten, forcing him to start his life as a hero all over again. At the same time, the new chapter pits him against a series of threats and the return of iconic adversaries, while New York City once again becomes a battlefield between his personal life and his duty as Spider-Man.
Minions & Monsters

Resident Evil

Godzilla Minus Zero

Hunger Games: The Dawn of the Harvest

Avengers: The Rise of Doctor Doom

Jumanji: Open World

It is the third film in the modern “Jumanji” series, following “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” (2017) and “Jumanji: The Next Level” (2019), but it is the fifth film in the franchise overall. The first film from 1995 with Robin Williams remains a cult classic, and the new film will also include a tribute to the actor as well as one of the iconic dice from that production.
Like the previous films, Open World follows a group of teenagers who become trapped inside the video game Jumanji – the board game evolution of the original film. To escape, they must cross dangerous jungles and deserts full of deadly creatures.
Dune: Part Three
