Students and a lead instructor from the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan participated in international training courses on traditional medicine held from April 9 to 23, 2026. The program was hosted by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in the People’s Republic of China and organized by the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS).
The training included both theoretical and practical sessions on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The curriculum provided in-depth knowledge on the history of Chinese medicine, therapeutic methods for health recovery, and the full cycle of medicinal plant processing—including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and storage—as well as the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Additionally, the participants visited various TCM museums and the Great Wall of China.
Notably, this international event brought together medical students not only from Turkmenistan but also from across other Central Asian countries.
