The retailer had already notified consumers who bought its own-brand remote rotating dildo at its stores or online that the product presents a risk of injury.
But because the device in question can be operated by remote control, ComReg has now also issued a warning to consumers.
The dildo, a 6.5-inch-long reproduction of the penis, was sold by Ann Summers stores and through its website between September 2025 and March this year.
“ComReg has been notified that the recall is because of a safety issue identified with Ann Summers Remote Rotating Dildo,” according to the watchdog. “The product presents a risk of injuries as it is possible for parts to detach during use. If you have one of these products, please stop using it immediately.”
Ann Summers says customers who bought the sex aid can return it to one of its stores or by post, for a full refund. No receipt is necessary

The product was recalled by the UK’s Office for Product Safety and Standards on April 9. The SKU, or stock keeping unit, on the device is 2008629.
Customers returning the product will be refunded via their preferred method of payment, according to Ann Summers.
“As a gesture of goodwill,” notes its website, “affected customers are being offered 20pc off their next purchase. Recalls like this are rare and demonstrate our commitment to acting quickly and responsibly when issues are identified.”
Ann Summers, whose chief executive is Maria Hollins, operates two stores in Ireland, in Dublin and Cork.
The chain’s operations in Ireland have continued to be loss-making. In the 2025 financial year, its business here posted a loss of €220,000, worse than the €170,000 it lost the previous year.
Its revenue slipped 3pc to €1.8m in the 12 months to the end of June last year.
Ms Hollins said the retail environment remained challenging across Ireland and the UK. She said inflationary pressures, higher operating costs and continued pressure on consumer spending were all weighing on retail businesses.
“Looking ahead, the business remains focused on delivering a stable and efficient retail operation in Ireland,” she said in accounts recently filed for the Irish arm.
