April 7, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Speaker Byambatsogt Sandag received the chairmen of
five parties that hold seats in parliament on April 6.
The meeting was attended
by the Prime Minister, Member of Parliament, Chairman of the Mongolian People’s
Party, Uchral Nyam-Osor; Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Democratic
Party, Tsogtgerel Odon; Member of Parliament, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of
the National Coalition, Nomtoibayar Nyamtaishir; Member of Parliament and
Chairman of the HUN Party Council in parliament, Ganzorig Purevjav; and Member
of Parliament, Chairman of the Civil Will–Green Party, Batbaatar Bat.
Speaker
Byambatsogt began the meeting by noting that the parliament is an organization
of consensus and that any policy or decision adopted by the parliament will
ensure the participation and representation of the five parties holding seats
in the State Great Khural, incorporating their views and upholding consensus
and mutual understanding as the fundamental principles of its work.
He also emphasized
his request for cooperation and support in prioritizing national common
interests and strengthening parliamentary governance in such complicated global
political and economic conditions. He also stated that efforts to enhance the open
and transparent operations of parliament will continue using the advantages of information
technology. The speaker mentioned that draft amendments to the Law on the State
Great Khural, the Law on the Procedure of the Plenary Session of the State
Great Khural, and the Law on Parliamentary Oversight are planned to be
presented to the State Great Khural next week.

Byambatsogt stated that he will work with the party leaders to increase parliament
members’ active participation and enforce certain limits on absences. Chairmen
of the parties holding seats in parliament expressed support for the speaker’s
initiatives to strengthen parliamentary democracy and to unite for the sake of
national common interests, further exchanging views on pressing socio-economic issues.
