Enver Hoxhaj on Carafano’s statements on T7: Alarm signal for Kosovo

The statement by American security expert James Carafano about Kosovo’s lack of commitment to partnerships with the US, former Kosovo Assembly member and former Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, has described these positions as a reflection of a broader perception in Washington.
In a video published on Facebook, Hoxhaj said that James Carafano is one of the most respected names in Washington on security and foreign policy topics.
“I have met him several times in the US and most recently at the Delphi Forum in Greece. His stance that Americans are looking for partnerships in the region, and that Kosovo has missed many opportunities, is a serious concern and indicates a broader perception in the US capital and not only there.”
Enver Hoxhaj also mentioned the agreement that Albania made on energy.
“The recent agreement that Albania made with the US, where it signed a large contract, about 6 billion in the energy sector, shows that the Americans are focused in the region on issues of energy, technology, security and defense, and Kosovo has not approached this new American policy in the most appropriate strategic way,” said Hoxhaj.
He added that this is the last time for Kosovo, through bilateral cooperation, to regain, as he said, American attention and support and, above all, to have security, energy independence, defense, but also our sovereignty as a priority of our foreign policy.
