Speaker of the National Council: Adopting a law strategy and organizing public affairs through laws reflects the building of state institutions

Al-Shahid Al-Hafiz, June 21, 2026 (SPS) – Member of the National Secretariat and President of the National Council, Mr. Al-Bashir Mustafa Al-Sayyid, confirmed today, Sunday, that the lectures hosted by the National Council within the work of the spring session constituted an added value and an appreciated effort on the part of the lecturers, for the knowledge and clarifications they provided related to various fields.

This came during a speech delivered by the President of the National Council at the beginning of a lecture on the judicial experience in the Sahrawi state presented by the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Embarek Sidi, in the presence of members of the National Council, where he highlighted the importance of these topics in enhancing legal awareness and developing institutional practice.

Mr. Al-Bashir Mustafa Al-Sayed explained that the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia El Hamra and Oued Eddahab has adopted, since the end of the 1980s, a strategy based on consolidating the law and adopting it as a framework for regulating public affairs, stressing that building institutions and managing society requires the presence of a clear and effective judicial system.

He added that interest in the law was not just a theoretical aspect, but was always linked to the necessity of linking legal concepts to their practical applications, and projecting them onto the reality of society and institutions, in a way that contributes to protecting rights, organizing relationships, and assuming responsibilities.

The President of the National Council indicated that addressing the theoretical aspects of the law and understanding its basic rules constitutes a basis for improving institutional performance and enhancing the culture of respect for the law within society.

This lecture falls within the training program for the spring session of the National Council, which includes a series of lectures aimed at developing knowledge and enhancing the capabilities of Council members to carry out their oversight tasks in the best possible way. (SPA)
