SpaceX shares continued to rise today and Elon Musk’s company has now overtaken Amazon to become the fifth largest company in the world by market capitalization.
Around 7pm this evening, the company’s shares stood at 213.35 US dollars or around 26,600 ISK. That means SpaceX is now valued at around $2.8 trillion.
Approach Microsoft
Analysts say that the rapid growth of the shares is not explained by real valuation support, but rather because of the strong interest and excitement surrounding the SpaceX offering.
SpaceX’s valuation now approaches Microsoft’s, which is valued at $2.92 trillion. However, Nvidia still reigns supreme, valued at US$5.1 trillion.
