The Small Business Support Unit is giving local entrepreneurs another opportunity to put their products in front of shoppers as it expands its annual for 2026.
The exhibition will be held on three Fridays, September 25, October 2 and October 9, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the ground floor of Government Headquarters.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Labour, Public Service Reform, Social Partnership, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development, approximately 30 registered micro and small enterprises, designers and artisans are expected to participate.
Visitors will be able to browse and purchase a range of traditional and contemporary Creole products, including attire, headpieces, jewellery, handbags, clutches, belts, footwear, locally made crafts and cultural ornaments.
The Small Business Support Unit said the event is also intended to help participating businesses increase sales, build brand visibility and reach new customers, while promoting local products and Dominica’s Creole heritage.
Officials say this year’s exhibition will feature several additions aimed at making the event more interactive.
Among them are Live Vendor Spotlights, which will give entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase signature products, promote their businesses and share their stories through engagements with local media personalities, radio and television presenters and social media influencers.
Shoppers will also be able to participate in a Shop & Win Promotion. Qualifying purchases from participating vendors will provide opportunities to enter a grand prize draw on October 9, the final day of the exhibition.
Entertainment will include Jing Ping, folk performances, drumming and DJ music, while a dedicated Creole Food Area will offer Creole breakfast and lunch, local confectionery and refreshments.
The Unit said the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to create opportunities for micro and small businesses to expand their market reach and demonstrate the commercial potential of locally produced goods.
The public, businesses, government employees, boutiques, retailers, fashion enthusiasts and visitors are being encouraged to attend and support the participating entrepreneurs.
The event is being promoted under the message: “Shop Local. Wear Local. Support Local.”
