The president Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova today from the army training ground Krivolak said that what NATO he does it through the standards, he should do it too The European Union through the Copenhagen criteria, reported MIA.
She made a statement to the media during the High Guests’ Day at the Blesok 26 military exercise, which was also attended by the Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovskithe Chief of the General Staff Sasko Lafchiskias well as representatives from the NATO command in Naples.
Siljanovska-Davkova emphasized that the exercise showed a high degree of preparedness, professionalism and compatibility of the Army with NATO standards, stressing that the soldiers, the command staff and the institutions are responsible for this.
She added that evaluation according to clear standards leaves no room for improvisations, but requires precise fulfillment of the criteria.
In that context, the president said that the same principle should apply to the European Union, through consistent application of the Copenhagen criteria.
According to her, European standards should mean rule of law, separation of powers, respect for human rights and equal treatment of states.
She emphasized that respect for national identity and integrity is part of European documents and that those principles must be consistently applied.
In the section on foreign policy, Siljanovska-Davkova informed that she had established contact with the former Bulgarian president Rumen Radevwith whom, as he said, they expressed readiness for further talks.
She pointed out that stable political governments provide better conditions for dialogue between states.
