Agriculture : The province of Tetouan is experiencing a new agricultural dynamic thanks to structuring projects launched by Minister Ahmed El Bouari, aimed at modernizing infrastructure, improving marketing circuits and strengthening sustainable rural development.

A boost was given to the agricultural project in Tetouan. During a field visit to the province on Saturday, Ahmed El Bouari, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, kicked off several structuring projects. The minister launched work to create a modern platform dedicated to the deposit and management of cash registers at the wholesale market level. Installed over a total area of approximately 6,000 m², for an investment of 5.5 million dirhams, this infrastructure aims to optimize logistics organization and improve the handling and hygiene conditions of agricultural products. The minister also kicked off the project to build a livestock market over an area of 3.5 hectares, for a total investment of 30 million dirhams.

This project integrates covered and open-air sales spaces, administrative premises and reception facilities, making it possible to offer professionals a modern, organized environment that complies with health requirements. In the same context, work was launched to build a modern poultry slaughterhouse. With a total cost of 30 million dirhams, this infrastructure covers an area of 7,000 m². It will contribute to upgrading slaughtering conditions, strengthening health standards and improving the quality of products intended for consumption. During this visit, Ahmed El Bouari visited the Tetouan green belt road project.

With a length of 1 km and mobilizing an investment of 28 million dirhams, this infrastructure is part of an integrated approach aimed at strengthening the connectivity of the territory. It will contribute to opening up rural areas, improving accessibility to public facilities, streamlining the marketing of agricultural products as well as promoting rural tourism, while helping to improve the living conditions of local populations.

It should be noted that these various projects reflect the ministry’s desire to continue the modernization of agricultural infrastructure, strengthen marketing circuits and support the economic attractiveness of rural areas. They also participate in the creation of employment opportunities, the improvement of income of local actors and the consolidation of sustainable and inclusive agricultural development in the province of Tetouan.
