The Serbian volleyball players were defeated in the Tivoli Hall in Ljubljana by the Slovenian team 1:3, in sets 23:25, 25:23, 20:25, 20:25, in a preparatory match before the start of the eighth season of the League of Nations.
He was the most effective in the selection of Serbia Veljko Masulović with 22 points, while Nik Mujanović scored 13 points in the winning team.
The friendly match had a humanitarian character and was held as part of the “Partnership in Sport” action, whose ambassador this year is the captain of the Slovenian volleyball team, Tina Urnaut.
Before the friendly match between Slovenia and Serbia, a show duel of Slovenian sports stars was played (three sets of 10 minutes each), and among others, basketball players Goran Dragić, Edo Murić and Vlatko Čančar, former skier Jure Košir and skier Ana Bucik Jogan, ski jumper Anže Lanišek, Slovenian national team selector Uroš Zorman, former handball player Vid Kavtičnik, and former swimmer Sara Isaković performed.
The blue team of Goran Dragić was cheered on from the bench by the President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar, and all the money from the sold tickets and text messages (collected more than 100,000 euros) will go to help young Slovenian athletes and para-athletes between the ages of 14 and 23.
Serbia was defeated by Slovenia in the first preparatory match on Sunday with 0:3 in sets, to win in the extra set with 25:23.
Serbia’s volleyball players start the competition in the League of Nations on June 10, when they play against Argentina in the first tournament in Brazil (9:30 p.m.).
