She, like Oprah Winfrey, belongs to the sign of Capricorn, and one of her characteristics is that she is a (pragmatist) who does not depend on luck, but rather on planning and continuous work, so we often see her at the top of the pyramid after years of construction, not a woman on the edge.
After presenting more than 250 episodes of her famous program in Al-Sharqiya (On the Edge), I mustered all my courage to ask the journalist Sajad Al-Jubouri:
□ If you met Trump while the world was on the brink of an abyss, how would you deal with him?
-I will deal with him as the president of the most powerful country in the world, with the decision of peace and war in his hand. I will be direct and frank, and my questions will be brief. What do you want from the Middle East? Are you looking for a political victory? Or real stability, and what is the concept of victory for you?

-I think that this question has a more human dimension than a political one. As Al-Ajafa bint Alqama Al-Saadi said when she bragged about her father in front of a group of women, “Every girl admires her father.” But the most difficult question is, is it possible to separate the image of the father from the image of the president? Perhaps only blonde Ivanka knows the answer.
□ Who of the former American presidents would you like to meet?
-I will choose George Bush Jr.! Not out of personal motivation or for the purpose of fame, but out of accountability, I want to ask him about the real motives behind the invasion of Iraq, and were the results achieved worth all this price, the bill for which the Iraqis are still paying socially, politically, and economically until now!

– Perhaps the intuitive or traditional answer is peace, but in my case this cannot be my answer, because in crises and wars, attention turns to television screens, specifically political programs, one of which I present, and I am at my happiest when I have a wealth of rich files, information, and questions that I would like to pose to my guests. Peaceful times do not suit me because they are boring and monotonous, which does not fit with the nature of my work, which gives me true happiness!
□ Did you discuss in any episode the issue of the water war because it was on the verge?
Water is part of national security and the sovereignty of states, and it was the cause of the outbreak of crises and tensions that reached the point of severing relations between some countries, so this file was always present in the program files.
□ Hanging on the ledges: represents weakness, hesitation, and fear of making final decisions on a personal level. How much does this apply to you?
Personally, I am not afraid of the edge, but I do not stay there for long. Rather, I consider it a starting point towards depth.
□ We are stuck on the edges of things, without falling or flying, in a position between the two states: outside death and life, inside slow dying Ghada Al-Samman, in letters of nostalgia for jasmine. Do you have any comments?
This quote represents what we are currently experiencing, which is the state of “uncertainty,” which keeps people suspended between the illusion of hope and the bitterness of despair. On a personal level, I do not like this gray area, because it is an area of exhaustion, and the most dangerous thing that can happen is that we become accustomed to slow death.
□ How much do you count for dialogue?
The preparation process does not precede the episode by an hour or two. It continues throughout the day by searching for breaking news, following up on the details, then searching for an analysis of this news, and through it, the topics and questions are built.
□ What is your impression – before – during – after the dialogue is shown on the screen?
-Before the dialogue: I follow up with the work team on the details of the episode, from the title to the topics, the type of guests, and the construction of the questions. Most important of all is entering the studio in a cheerful, enthusiastic spirit, but with caution, to present my best to the audience.
During the dialogue: I am in a state of complete integration with the guests. I listen and write down what they say and follow the breaking news, and I do not forget the voice of the director who is directing the episode behind the scenes. After the dialogue: I turn into a harsh critic of my performance!
□ There are those who say: Why do some women prefer politics and its corridors to the heavens of art and its earthly stars?
Every woman has interests, and these are my interests. They may not give me the fame and financial returns that art gives, but they may give me the influence I aspire to.
When did you feel on the verge of despair?
-The moment my father died, I felt as if the world had been cruel to me in a way that I could not bear.
