The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) wishes to inform the general public that senior officers of the Force recently met with the Parliamentary Representative for St John and members of the Gouyave Improvement Committee to discuss arrangements for the hosting of the upcoming Gouyave Fisherman’s Birthday celebrations (29 June).
The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to address concerns relating to public safety, traffic management, and the smooth execution of the event. Following productive discussions, the following decisions were agreed upon:
- No physical structures will be erected across the entire main road
- Vendors will be permitted to operate along the sides of the roads and have their music played at a reasonable sound
- No music will be played until the church service has concluded
- Permission has been granted for music to be played until 2 am
- The usual bypass routes will be utilised to facilitate the flow of regular vehicular traffic
- Permission has been granted for the erection of a stage along St Dominic’s Street (behind the gas station)
The RGPF reminds all organisers, vendors, and patrons that emergency vehicles and large trucks must be granted unrestricted access to Central Depradine Street and Upper Depradine Street throughout the celebrations. This requirement is essential to ensure that emergency services can respond promptly should the need arise.
