According to the press release published Wednesday by the Ministry of National Education, this increase in fraud cases detected during the 2026 unified regional examination is explained in particular by strengthening control mechanisms in examination centers. The ministry indicates that it has generalized the use of electronic systems to help detect fraud, alongside the mobilization of surveillance and control teams and monitoring and vigilance commissions.
The most notable device this year is the T3 Shield, a device electronic detection capable of detecting signals emitted by cell phonesof the connected headphonesof the smart watches or any other equipment prohibited in examination rooms. It targets in particular miniaturized or hidden means of cheating, difficult to identify by traditional surveillance methods.
The ministry also indicates that it has strengthened the security of examinations during the stages of reproduction, of storage and of transportation of subjects, while continuing to update the procedures governing the various examination operations.
In total, 570,696 candidates passed the unified regional exam for the first year of the baccalaureate cycle, June 2026 session. Schooled candidates represent 82.2% of participants, while independent candidates constitute 17.8% of the workforce.
The attendance rate reached 97.7% among the educated candidates and 64.1% among free candidates. The ministry believes that the tests took place in good conditions thanks to the mobilization of educational and administrative actors.
The 2026 session was also marked by the continued digitization of the management of baccalaureate exams, with the use of electronic secret coding as well as secure digital certificates and statements. According to the ministry, these measures aim to strengthen the governance of exams and the credibility of the national baccalaureate diploma.
