“In modern Montenegrin history, especially since the restoration of independence, we have not had a French president or a German chancellor in Montenegro, so this is really a big news for Montenegro,” Miloš Radonjić, adviser to the president for European affairs, told TV Vijesti.
We are waiting, he says, for confirmation of the participation of the Prime Minister of Italy, Đorđe Meloni.
“Of course, all other leaders of the member states of the European Union,” Radonjić added.
He states that according to current announcements, around forty delegations, hundreds of journalists and a total of up to a thousand participants are expected, which, as he pointed out, makes the Summit politically and logistically the most complex international gathering that the state has organized so far.
“Due to its format, the leaders of all the member states of the European Union, then the leaders of the EU institutions, as well as the leaders of the Western Balkan region are expected to attend the Summit. Of course, some delegations will be represented in the format we announced, which is one plus eight members, while some delegations will have several dozen members in their delegation,” said Radonjić.
The official part of the event will take place on June 5 in Porto Montenegro, when a plenary session and a working lunch of the leaders are planned.
