Professor Mirović on detention at the border: Evidence of the delirium of Aleksandar Vučić’s regime – Society

Although he is a citizen of Serbia, Dejan Mirović, a full-time professor at the University of Kosovska Mitrovica, is not allowed to enter Serbia from Montenegro at the Gostun border crossing tonight at around 8 p.m., he said. News.

“Tonight around 8:00 p.m., the Serbian police banned me from entering Serbia even though I am a citizen and a former member of the National Assembly. They did not give me any explanation and they tore the vehicle down. After an hour and a half of unnecessary detention, I was allowed to enter Serbia,” Mirović said.

He pointed out that such treatment of a university professor who has never been convicted is “proof of the delirium of Aleksandar Vučić’s regime.”

He recalled that in 2018 he was banned from entering Montenegro, and that he is now experiencing a similar situation in Serbia.

“Another proof of cooperation between DPS and SNS”, said Mirović.

The situation at the border crossings between Montenegro and Serbia will be normalized this evening after the officers of the Security and Information Agency (BIA) of Serbia withdrew from the border crossings, reports News.

BIA officials withdrew after Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić from Tivat called on Serbian state authorities to let Montenegrin citizens into Serbia through border crossings.

Because of yesterday return of the plane with 87 men close to Vučić from Tivat airportSerbia has been carrying out detailed checks of Montenegrin citizens at the border crossings since last night at 7:30 p.m., so the wait to enter Serbia was over six hours.

Some Montenegrin citizens have been banned from entering Serbia under the pretext that they are a security threat to that country.

Thus, the bus with about 20 users of the Old People’s Home from Bijelo Polje who were returned from the Gostun crossing could not go on a trip to Serbia today. A bus full of children from the Cultural and Artistic Society from Kotor was detained last night at the border with Serbia for more than five hours and was released only after midnight.

Another 30 Montenegrin citizens, exclusively men, were detained late last night at the Belgrade airport, where they were only released after detailed checks.

Blažo Radjenović, vice president of URE, could not go to Serbia last night, and the former director of the Montenegrin police, Nikola Terzić, was also banned from entering.
