Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said that the process of bringing back the former IGP Benazir Ahmed, who was arrested in Dubai, is going on soon. He said this after giving awards to policemen for their contribution to maintaining law and order at the secretariat on Saturday (June 20) afternoon.
The Interior Minister said that the UAE Federal Police confirmed the arrest of Benazir Ahmed on June 12 on the basis of Interpol’s red notice. Although they were given 30 days for the next process, the Ministry of Interior prepared the necessary documents in just three days and sent them to the UAE government through diplomatic efforts.
The Home Minister said that the criminals will be eliminated by bringing under control the Mohammadpur area of the capital. He said that Mohammadpur area has become a sanctuary for criminals for many years. This Mohammadpur will also be brought under control. The criminals here will be eliminated.
Stating that the current government is working at a much faster pace than any previous government, he said, ‘It has already been seen by everyone. Salahuddin Ahmad also said that policemen are performing so much duty after the elected government that they are being rewarded for their commendable work.
In the event, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Manjur Morshed Chowdhury, IGP of Police. Ali Hossain Fakir and senior officials of the ministry and police were present.
