The Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA) proclaimed its new authorities for the period 2026-2031 this Thursday night. Alcides Riveros, incoming president, promised to seek consensus with the opposition and present single candidates in the municipal elections to win in 130 districts. He points out that the objective is to bring “an opponent” to the López Palace in 2028.
The Authentic Radical Liberal Party (PLRA) proclaimed to its elected authorities in the internal elections of June 7. The certificates of the elected president of the group were delivered, Alcides Riverosits vice presidents, members of the Board of Directors and others.
The hegemonic group will be the movement New Liberalismled by the governor of Central and 2028 presidential candidate Ricardo Estigarribia.
The event took place at the party headquarters and was attended by numerous liberal legislators and opposition parties.
During his speech, he thanked the liberals, their voters and the fraternal parties. He promised to start a great national dialogue and create five new secretariats in the PLRA that analyze the economy, health, education and energy among other points.

He promised to modernize the group and strengthen the mayors, councilors and governors of the PLRA.
He also said that in the municipal elections on October 4 the PLRA will aim to win in 100 of the 263 municipalities and that with the opposition there will be 130 municipalities. He stressed that “there is no 2028 without 2026″.
In this context, he promised to work so that the opposition presents a single candidate for mayor in the majority of the country’s districts so as not to divide the votes.
He also said that he promised liberals and other forces to bring an opponent to the López Palace. Given the ambiguity, an assistant shouted that he confirm that a liberal would lead the group, but Riveros only continued with his speech.
