At the Small plane crash Eleven people died near the French city of Nancy on Sunday. This was confirmed by the prefect of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department. The plane crashed at around 11 a.m. in Tomblaine, near Nancy-Essey airfield.
The machine was registered in Germany Pilatus PC-6which is commonly used for skydiving. According to initial findings, the pilot and ten other people were on board. These are said to have been five flight instructors and five participants in a parachute jumping trial course, as “L’Est Républicain” reports.

Mayor comments
The plane crashed during takeoff just a few dozen meters from the airfield runway. “I cannot remember a tragedy of this magnitude,” said Hervé Féron, mayor of Tomblaine. “The plane had just taken off when it suddenly crashed. The crash occurred on a bicycle path near a residential area. The city of Tomblaine is providing a room in a secret location for the victims’ families. According to my information, there were five instructors, five parachutists and the pilot on board the aircraft, which was presumably rented in Germany. The Nancy metropolitan region also provides the victims with a place to commemorate and mourn.”
The cause of the crash is still unclear
Several French media also report that the passengers came from the Nancy area and were said to have worked as nursing staff. There is currently no official confirmation of this. According to French media, three people were thrown from the plane. The cause of the crash is still unclear.
