The health service is replacing the x-ray equipment at Landshospitalet, regional hospitals and health centers throughout the country. Queen Ingrid’s Hospital in Nuuk is also getting new CT scanners.
Health centres, regional hospitals and Queen Ingrid’s Hospital in Nuuk gets new X-ray equipment.

A total of 17 new X-ray machines are purchased. These are the health centers in Uummannaq, Upernavik, Qaanaaq, Qeqertarsuaq, Qasigiannguit, Maniitsoq, Narsaq, Nanortalik, Paamiut and Tasiilaq and the regional hospitals in Ilulissat, Aasiaat, Sisimiut, Qaqortoq and the Landshospitalet in Nuuk.
In addition, Landshospitalet in Nuuk will get two new CT scanners, and the health service is also planning a new CT scanner for Ilulissat regional hospital.
The new equipment will provide faster and more accurate examination of patients across the country. The investment supports the continued development of the healthcare system and creates the basis for more uniform and modern diagnostic offers across the country.

The equipment is financed by funds from the sub-agreement on health between Naalakkersuisut and the Danish government of 9 February 2026, which follows the Framework Agreement on a self-sustaining Greenland from September 2025.
– We have worked so that part of the money from the agreement should go towards renewing the equipment in this country. I am therefore pleased that we are now ready to make an investment that will provide noticeable improvements for both patients and employees. It is an important milestone and part of the work to continuously develop and improve the health service’s offer, says Anna Wangenheim.
The task of supplying new imaging equipment and CT scanners to the healthcare system has been put out to tender so that relevant companies can bid for the task. The tenders are expected to run until 10 September 2026. The health service will then carry out an assessment of the tenders received with a view to selecting suppliers before the end of the year. It is expected that the equipment will be installed and put into use during 2027.
