The Pailin Provincial Unified Command has continued conducting traffic inspections, focusing on foreigners illegally residing in the province in order to prevent various unlawful activities.
On Wednesday night 2, following the directive of Ban Sreymom, Governor of Pailin province and Chairwoman of the provincial unified command committee, a joint force was deployed to set up checkpoints along National Roads 57 and 59. The operation aims to monitor and prevent illegal foreign nationals from entering the province to commit criminal activities, particularly technology-related crimes such as online scams.
The operation also seeks to prevent the concealment of cybercrime activities while ensuring public safety and order for residents. Authorities stressed that the measure is part of the firm implementation of the government’s policy to eradicate such crimes from the country.
The continued campaign by the provincial unified command aims to strengthen the enforcement of social security, public order, and safety across the province. Authorities are paying close attention to monitoring locations where people gather to live, inspecting foreign residents’ accommodations, and checking casino establishments to prevent foreigners from illegally entering and residing in the province, which could facilitate criminal activities—especially online scam operations.
Under the clear and firm policies of the government, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, authorities have been strictly enforcing the law against online fraud networks. Suspects and accomplices involved in online scam cases are being arrested and sent to court for prosecution, while foreign offenders are being deported to their home countries. The Cambodian authorities have also been cooperating with regional and international partners by sharing information about criminal masterminds involved in such networks.
