OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF COCAINE SEIZED IN BARBUDA
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda August 4, 2026
The police have seized more than one million dollar’s worth of cocaine, following two separate discoveries along the coastline of Barbuda.
On August 2, a package with twenty (20) vacuum-sealed parcels of a whitish substance suspected to be cocaine was seized near the dock at Coco Point.
A second seizure was made the following day, when a similar package containing twenty (20) vacuum-sealed parcels with a substance suspected to be cocaine was discovered along the said Coco Point Beach. The combined seizure weighed 104 pounds, with an estimated street value of EC$1,084,910.00.
The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has launched a full investigation into the origin of the drugs and is pursuing all available leads to identify those responsible.
