On the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity launched, on June 10, 2026, the “Marhaba” operation to welcome Moroccans living abroad. The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, which is participating in the implementation of the operation alongside all national stakeholders, activated the global reception system at midnight simultaneously in Morocco, France, Spain and Italy. Placed under the effective Presidency of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this 2026 edition is marked by a system consolidated since the previous edition, and which is based on a network of 26 reception spaces in Morocco and abroad, ensuring a local presence at the main transit points used by Moroccans living abroad, according to a press release from the Foundation.

In Morocco, it includes 20 spaces, distributed at the ports of Tanger Med, Tanger Ville, Al Hoceima and Nador Bni Nsar, in the airports of Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat – Salé, Oujda Angad, Nador, Agadir Al Massira, Fès Saïss, Marrakech Menara, Tanger Ibn Battouta, Laâyoune Hassan 1er, Dakhla, in the Mediterranean rest areas, Jebha, Tazaghine and Smir M’Diq as well as at the border crossings of Bab Sebta and Mellilia. Abroad, six (6) Marhaba spaces are also operational in the European ports of Genoa (Italy), Sète and Marseille (France), Motril, Almeria and Algeciras (Spain). Deployed from June 10 to September 15, social assistance and medical care services are provided on all of these sites in order to support members of the community residing abroad, both during the arrival and return phases. Nearly 1,400 people including Foundation teams, social workers, doctors, paramedical executives and volunteers are mobilized as part of this system to ensure listening, assistance and care for Moroccans living abroad. This medical-humanitarian assistance system is reinforced by the Central Coordination Office (BCC) which is domiciled in Rabat. Supervised by the Foundation, it monitors the activity of the assistance teams deployed in the field, coordinates the mobilization of stakeholders in the management of situations and manages the Marhaba telephone assistance service.

    Accessible 7 days a week and 24 hours a day for the duration of the operation, the Marhaba call service can be reached at the following telephone numbers: 00 212 537 20 5566 and 00 212 537 20 6666 for calls from abroad, the free toll-free number 080000 23 23 and 0808 69 07 93 accessible from the Kingdom, the number 00 39 35 1323 50 40 (Genoa) for Italy, the numbers 00 33 745 757 309 (Marseille) and 00 33 617 299 161 (Sète) for France, and the numbers 00 34 632 014 577 (Motril), 00 34 632 086 009 (Almeria) and 00 34 631 419 658 (Algeciras) for Spain, the press release concludes.
