While the state is trying to recover the damage from the “Gala Bute” file by auctioning some assets associated with Elena Udrea, the former Minister of Tourism faces a new trial. The Youth Tourism Office (BTT) has opened a court action targeting a piece of land in the Străulești Lake area, purchased by Udrea almost two decades ago and for many years at the center of disputes related to the state’s heritage, writes Spynews.
The recently registered file has as its object a declaratory action, and alongside Elena Udrea two men and two women were also called before the court. One of them is a close relative of the former minister, investigated by the DNA in the past for money laundering, writes the quoted source.
The land now in dispute comes from the former BTT sports and leisure base in the Străulești area, Sector 1. The property was bought by Elena Udrea in 2006, after a retrocession that generated numerous controversies and journalistic investigations. Over the years, there have been suspicions that the state may have been harmed by the disposal of BTT’s assets, the land being sold at a price considered far below its true market value.
In 2015, the National Anticorruption Directorate instituted seizure of the land, in the context of the investigation in the “Gala Bute” file. Later, a part of the surface was auctioned by ANAF for the recovery of the damage established by the final decision of conviction.

In parallel with the new litigation, ANAF continues the procedure for the recovery of confiscated or enforced assets. On the ANAF eLicitations platform, launched at the end of March, luxury cars, jewelry, watches, bags and land belonging to people who have been definitively convicted or executed by force were listed, according to Europe FM.
Among the most expensive items for sale is a Lamborghini Urus manufactured in 2021, with a starting price of 220,000 euros, but also a Ferrari Portofino valued at 190,000 euros.
On the same platform, there are also lands that belonged to Elena Udrea. One of these, located in Călărași county, is listed at approximately 3,300 euros, a price considered far below the market value.
