The agreements were concluded during an expanded working session chaired by the Minister of the Interior, Local Governments and Transport, Al-Saeed Saeed, and the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of the Sultanate of Oman, Saeed bin Hamoud Al-Maawali, which brought together officials and executives of the transport sector from the two countries in the presence of the High Minister of Digitization, Maryam bin Maouli.

In the field of maritime transport, a memorandum of understanding was concluded between the Port Services Complex “Sarpur” and the “Asyad” Group of the Sultanate of Oman, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of port management and port services.

A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of airport ground services was also signed between the Algiers Airport Services Company, Houari Boumediene, and its Omani counterpart, with the aim of developing the quality of services and improving operational performance at airports.

In addition, an executive program for cooperation was agreed upon that includes various fields of transportation, as an embodiment of the common will to strengthen the partnership and intensify coordination between the two countries.

The Ministry explained that this meeting was also devoted to continuing to discuss “ways to develop the partnership and enhance coordination in various modes of transportation,” while emphasizing “the importance of intensifying cooperation and exchanging experiences to serve the common interests of the two countries.”

On the occasion, Saeed affirmed his “full readiness to continue coordination and enhance bilateral cooperation between Algeria and the Sultanate of Oman in various fields of transport and to support all initiatives aimed at upgrading the partnership between the two countries.”

In the same context, Bin Mouloud highlighted “its readiness to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences and expertise with the Omani side in the field of digitization in a way that supports the path of digital transformation, modernization of management systems, and development of services.”

For his part, Al-Ma’awali expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality he and his accompanying delegation received, praising the good organization and quality of accompaniment that characterized the various stages of this visit.

For reference, yesterday, Monday, the Omani Minister visited the “Hyproc” company for sea transportation of fuels in Oran, where he listened to a presentation about its activity in transporting various energy products.

During this visit, the Omani Minister followed a presentation on Hibrook’s projects, especially those related to its fleet dedicated to transporting liquefied natural gas and hydrocarbons, which consists of 14 tankers, in addition to a joint project with the Omani “Asyad” company for logistics services to build two tankers, as well as training and maritime training programmes.
