What is happening around us – says Rete – requires a reflection on the stability of our democracies and makes an equally profound political crisis even more evident: that of a left that has stopped acting as such. San Marino is no exception. Here there are those who celebrate July 28th and recall the “moral question”, only to then settle into the same logic of power that they say they want to fight. There are those who continue to define themselves as “left-wing” while supporting a Government that views the European path with distrust, leaves very serious questions about the banking system unanswered and seeks economic shortcuts that recall dark seasons in our country. This is how a political space becomes empty, but it certainly has not ceased to exist. It still exists among those who think that rights should be defended and expanded. Among those who want strong public healthcare, decent work and a more just society. Between those who demand transparency from those who govern and those who believe that the future must be capable of building development, without subterfuge. It exists among those who do not recognize themselves in nationalism, conservatism or a left that has stopped being different from the right. While everything seems to get confused and a part of San Marino politics continues to move towards the right, RETE knows where it stands. On the left, without ambiguity.
