The National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU) has joined forces with the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) to sponsor the 15th edition of Jazz N’ Creole, set to highlight Afro Elegance at Fort Shirley on Sunday, May 3.
The announcement was made during a DDA press conference on Thursday, April 23, where NCCU was officially presented as a sponsor of the highly anticipated cultural event.
Edona Jno Baptiste, Public Relations and Communications Specialist at NCCU, underscored the institution’s commitment to community development and cultural preservation.
“For NCCU, we understand the important role that festivals and cultural events play in cultural preservation and economic activity. Through NCCU’s sponsorship, Jazz and Creole will have a greater local impact, generating economic spinoffs for Portsmouth, neighbouring communities, and Dominica,” Jno Baptiste stated.
This year’s sponsorship carries added significance, coinciding with NCCU’s own 15th anniversary since its amalgamation. The milestone reflects a shared celebration of growth, resilience, and community impact between the credit union and the festival.
Festival-goers can expect a unique NCCU experience at Fort Shirley, branded as Speak, Sip, and Spin. Patrons will have the chance to interact with NCCU ambassadors, enjoy curated cocktails, and spin the wheel for prizes.
“If you are joining us at Jazz and Creole, be sure to stop by and discover it for yourself,” Jno Baptiste added.
In the lead-up to the event, NCCU is continuing its promotional campaign until April 30, offering affordable loan options with no security required. This year’s sponsorship is powered by NCCU’s Alternative Energy Loan initiative.
