The Municipality of Asunción will once again carry out its “Sanjuanazo” this year to celebrate the traditions that characterize this time. When and where will it be? More details in the next note.
This Saturday, June 27, the “Sanjuanazo 2026″ organized by the Municipality of Asuncionin coordination with its culture directorates and El Cabildo.
The appointment will be at Parade ground from the capital from 11:00 and the participation of several people who will be able to enjoy various activities is expected.
“The activity will bring together families, neighbors and visitors in a day “aimed at rescuing and strengthening Paraguayan popular traditions”details the commune.
For this purpose, they promise a “extensive programming” which will include typical foods, traditional games, music, folk dance and cultural expressions.
What will be found?
In this regard, the director of Cultural and Community Action, Hugo Gonzalez aims “keep alive” the customs that identify the Paraguayan people.
Among the main attractions will be the traditional San Juan games such as toro candil, tata ári jehasa, ruta vosa, paila jeheréi and other proposals.
Another promise is the gastronomy that cannot be missed in a San Juanso visitors will be able to enjoy: chewed pajagua, mandi’o cake, mbejú, braided chicharõ, chicharõ hu’itĩ and also various traditional desserts. The organization confirmed the participation of about 60 exhibitors, mostly from Asunción, although exhibitors from neighboring cities such as Lambaré, Luque, San Lorenzo and Areguá will also join. Additionally, there will be a “try” and entry will be free.
