The Moroccan people join the Royal Family to celebrate Saturday, with jubilation and communion, the 56th birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.
This happy event offers all Moroccans the opportunity to express their warm congratulations and sincere wishes for happiness and long life to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, to HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and to the entire August Royal Family.
Born on June 20, 1970 in Rabat, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid obtained, in May 1993, with distinction “Very Good”, a degree in Public Law (Internal Administration option) and a diploma in Comparative Law at the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in Rabat.
Three years later, His Royal Highness obtained the second higher education certificate with “Very Good” honors (International Relations option).
His Royal Highness publicly defended, on May 18, 2001 at Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV University, a doctoral thesis in Law on “The Organization of the Islamic Conference: Study of a specific international organization”, obtained with distinction “Very Honorable with the congratulations of the jury and special mention for its publication”, having regard to the interest of the subject and the quality of the work.
Since a young age, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid has been interested in cultural, social and sporting activities. In this capacity, His Royal Highness has chaired, since 1997, the Moroccan National Scouting Federation, to which he has given new dynamism.
In the same spirit and with the same commitment, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid chairs the Royal Moroccan Hunting Weapons Shooting Federation, the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation and the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association.
Since January 2018, His Royal Highness has also chaired the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation.
His Royal Highness presided over major events in different fields as well as official ceremonies, and represented His Majesty the King in important national and international events, reinforcing Morocco’s influence on the regional and international scenes.
Thus, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Moulay Rachid and Princess Lalla Meryem chaired, on May 23 at the Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam in Rabat, the awards ceremony to the winners of the 50th edition of the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 29th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup, organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him.
The day before, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid had chaired, at the Royal Golf Dar Es-Salam, the gala dinner offered by His Majesty the King, on the occasion of the 50th edition of the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 29th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup.
On April 20, His Royal Highness chaired, at the Mechouar Stinia-Sahrij Souani in Meknes, the opening ceremony of the 18th edition of the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, under the theme “Sustainability of animal production and food sovereignty”.
On January 18, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid presided over the final of the 35th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN-Morocco 2025) at the “Prince Moulay Abdellah” Stadium in Rabat. The next day, His Royal Highness, on the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, received, at the Palace of Royal Guests in Rabat, the members of the National Football Team.
On November 29, 2025, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, accompanied by HRH Princess Lalla Oumkeltoum, chaired, at Bab Ighli in Marrakech, a dinner offered by HM King Mohammed VI, on the occasion of the official opening of the 22nd edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival.
On September 15 of the same year, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, at the emergency Arab-Islamic summit, held in Doha, Qatar.
On July 30, 2025, His Royal Highness chaired, in Tetouan, a lunch offered by the Head of Government, on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His glorious Ancestors.
On June 29, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid chaired, at the Fez sports complex, the final of the Football Throne Cup, season 2023-2024, pitting Olympic Safi against Renaissance Sportive de Berkane.
The celebration of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid’s birthday thus constitutes an opportunity for the entire Moroccan people to reaffirm their unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne and their constant mobilization behind His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the success of the major development projects launched by the Sovereign for the progress and prosperity of His faithful people.
