Arturo Manuel Chávez López, Blanca Yassahara Cruz García, Frida Denisse Gómez Puga will be the next electoral advisors of the National Electoral Institute (INE).
The agreement was endorsed by 334 votes in favor from Brunette, P.T. and PVEMas well as 127 votes against by the PRI, BREAD and MC. In the debate, the PRI, PAN and MC benches rejected the agreement.
“Unfortunately, throughout the entire process, we were able to observe that this was dominated by opacity and links that we cannot accept…we see that what is being done here is kidnapping an institution and thereby putting a dam on our democratic life,” declared PRI deputy Víctor Palma during the debate in the plenary session.
“This new Morenoist INE will not last as long as the Insabi did, we are going to defeat it with conscience and free votes… that Committee was a political cretinence, all in the dark. This is a democratic act,” added the PAN deputy, Germán Martínez.
In defense of the proposals, PT, PVEM and Morena, affirmed that the process was “legal and transparent,” and maintained that the elected profiles will act up to the responsibility that the democracy requires.
Víctor Hugo Lobo Román maintained that the process “was a proven and transparent process: “The INE not only maintains its size but is strengthened and continues to advance with autonomy, independence and with sovereignty”.
After the approval of the three profiles, the new directors and the new director protested.
This was agreed by the legislative majority of Brunette and his allies Labor Party and Green Ecologist of Mexicoafter a long negotiation in which the President of the National Election Commission of Morena even had to intervene, Citlalli Hernandez.
It is expected that in the next few hours, the agreement will be put to a vote in plenary.
