Turkmenistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, held a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, Dmitry Shlapachenko, who is concluding his mission in the country. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues regarding cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations system, as well as prospects for the further development of collaboration in the pursuit of shared sustainable development goals.
The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan noted Dmitry Shlapachenko’s significant contribution to strengthening the partnership between Turkmenistan and the UN system, as well as to facilitating the implementation of joint programs and projects aimed at socio-economic development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.Rashid Meredov wished the coordinator success in his future professional endeavors and expressed confidence that his continued work would further contribute to the development of international cooperation.
The parties emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing multifaceted cooperation with the UN, viewing the organization as a key international partner in matters of peace, security, and sustainable development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dmitry Shlapachenko expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the assistance and support provided during his mission in the country.
