IT WAS EXPECTED to be keenly contested, but no one expected that despite the wet conditions, the tactical quality of play in the 2026 St.Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association/ Bank of St.Vincent and the Grenadines National Club Netball Knockout Competition finals would attain such a high standard, and would go down to the wire.
DHL Mitres, having already secured the League title, was aiming to also lift the Knock in their game against National Properties Netters….. on Wednesday, June 2 The pendulum swung agonizingly back and forth as each team tried to get the upper hand to the cheers and appreciation of the almost capacity crowd at the Nutricia Netball Centre, New Montrose on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. The game reached fever pitch at the end of the third quarter with scores tied at 31 each, and the roof was almost lifted off when the final whistle blew at the end of regulation time with scores still tied, this time at 40 goals apiece.
The game then headed into two 3-minute periods of extra time with one minute’s rest between, and despite Netters taking the lead at one point, Mitres stormed back to win by a narrow 51 – 50 margin.
Following the exciting final, the awards ceremony took place with the top performers from each participating club, and the tournament’s top players being rewarded for their outstanding performances.
