On that path, The District Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD) must certify to the District Secretariat of Finance the events held each month that can effectively enjoy tax benefits.
The exemptions adopted in the draft agreement will be in force until December 31, 2036, that is, for 10 years.
“We want the National Team to feel at home when it comes to Bogotá and not have to pay a fee to play here. That is not done in any city. That is why we generate incentives for the different categories,” Quintero added.
Ramón Jesurún, president of the FCF, thanked the District for the initiative and recognized that this levels Bogotá compared to other cities that have stimuli.
“What we are trying to do is for Bogotá to once again become a competitive city to host soccer events. It must be recognized that Bogotá has lost competition due to the lack of stimuli and that is what we are trying today, at the initiative of the Mayor’s Office, to recover. We view the project with great pleasure and complacency. The benefits that any party brings to a city are immeasurable,” said Jesurún.
Although there may be concern about the money that the city would stop receiving due to the exemptions, the secretary clarified that these types of proposals boost the city’s economy.

“We do it with fiscal responsibility: if the events do not arrive, there is no collection. With this project we continue to boost the local economy and position Bogotá in the big leagues,” he explained.
In this way, it is intended that the city hosts these events and with it reactivate key sectors.
“The mayor’s office of Carlos Fernando Galán continues to advance for employment, commerce and tourism. The economic reactivation that is moving in each party reaches millions of families directly,” said the secretary.
For now, The project was filed in the Council and it is expected that in the next few hours the speakers can be defined of the initiative to start its process in the council.
“We thank the Finance Commission and the councilors from different parties who support this initiative. Bogotá is the home of everyone, and we want it to also be the home of the Colombian National Team,” said the official.
