Barcelona (Spain), April 27, 2026 (SPS) – The city of Barcelona, in the region of Catalonia, Spain, witnessed Monday a massive demonstration demanding respect for international law in Western Sahara.
The event saw participation from members of the Sahrawi community and supporters of the Sahrawi people.
The event, which included more than 2,000 demonstrators, marched from University Square (Plaça de la Universitat) toward the government headquarters, in the presence of the Polisario Front representative in Catalonia.
Participants raised slogans supporting the Sahrawi people’s struggle for their legitimate right to self-determination and independence, while also expressing solidarity with all just causes worldwide. They chanted slogans condemning the continuation of wars and calling for an end to unjust aggression against peoples and their right to freedom.
