Berlin (Germany), April 28, 2026 (SPS) – Today, the Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Germany, Ms. Alice Machingaidasa, received the representative of the Polisario Front in Germany, Ambassador Mohamed Al-Mamoun Ahmed Ibrahim, within the framework of a bilateral meeting that discussed the latest political developments related to the issue of decolonization in Western Sahara, especially at the level of the United Nations and the European Union.
The two parties also exchanged views on ways to support international efforts aimed at finding a just and lasting solution to the Sahrawi issue, in line with the relevant international legitimacy resolutions and guaranteeing the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination.
Ambassador Mohamed Al-Mamoun Ahmed Ibrahim affirmed the appreciation of the Sahrawi people and their political leadership for the principled and historical position of Zimbabwe, appreciating the role it plays in supporting just causes, foremost of which is the valiant struggle of the Sahrawi people.
For her part, Ambassador Machingaidasa reiterated Zimbabwe’s firm and supportive position on the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination, stressing her country’s principled commitment to continue its support for the struggle of the Sahrawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination.
This meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Representative in Germany, Brother Al-Saleh Mohamed Sayed Al-Bashir, comes in the context of ongoing coordination and consultation between the Sahrawi Republic and the Republic of Zimbabwe, in a way that strengthens the diplomatic and fraternal relations that have existed between the two countries since 1980.
