Marian Neacșu announced the initiation of a censure motion alongside GOLD against the prime minister Ilia Bolojanafter the withdrawal of the ministers P.S.D from the Government and the escalation of disputes in the former governing coalition.
The other days, Ilie Bolojan thanked his former government partners from P.S.Dincluding Marian Neacșu, whom he thanked in a special way.
The spokeswoman of the Government, Ioana Ene Dogioiu, reported that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan wanted, during the Government meeting in which PSD ministers did not participate, to highlight their contribution to government activities.
“At the end of the government meeting, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan wanted to thank the ministers supported by the Social-Democratic Party, who were not present at the meeting, he emphasized the fact that this was teamwork. Everything that was achieved in the 10 months, with good, with, bad, was a very important teamwork, to which everyone contributed and for which, of course, everyone has their share of responsibility,” he said the spokesperson of the Government, Ioana Dogioiu, after the meeting of the Executive.
Marian Neacșu held the position of deputy in the Bolojan Government until the withdrawal of the PSD ministers from the Executive. Currently, he no longer holds an official position in the party’s leadership structure. His name has also been associated with integrity controversies in the past, after he was given a suspended prison sentence in 2016 for conflict of interest, following a situation in which he allegedly employed his daughter in his parliamentary office.
There were also laudatory messages from the PSD to the prime minister, even if they withdrew their support after a party decision. Ciprian Şerban, the Minister of Transport, also had a message for the Prime Minister in his resignation.
“Please accept, Mr. Prime Minister, the expression of my special consideration.” Later, at the Parliament, Ciprian Şerban conveyed that, beyond the political struggle, decency is needed.
Alfred Simonis (PSD), the president of CJ Timiș: “I don’t think we will be out of government for very long. We need a stable pro-European government”
On the other hand, many voices in the PSD supported until recently the same government formula, with another prime minister, in no case an alliance with AUR. The president of the Timiș County Council, Alfred Simonis, who also holds the position of president of PSD Timiș, said on Thursday, April 23, that the relationship between him and the mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritzdid not break down during this period and mentioned that PSD will not stay out of government for very long. According to Simonis, a stable pro-European government is needed, and this is not possible without the PSD, but with the support of the AUR.
“I have no evidence that the relationship between me and Mr. Fritz, between the County Council and Timișoara City Hall, has broken down or will break down. Besides, it would be interesting to say that, when Mr. Fritz and his lordship’s party were in opposition, I was in the government, president of the Chamber of Deputies, and whenever I had the opportunity, as his lordship admitted, I supported the City Hall, Timiș County. I don’t think we will stay out for a long time government (…). I’m not surprised anymore, I’m not surprised either, considering that those who until yesterday said that the alliance, the association with the extremists is bad and today are throwing warm marshmallows to those in AUR, saying that everything would be normal”, said Alfred Simonis, on Thursday, in a press conference.
