The president GOLD, George Simionstated that the filing of the censure motion alongside P.S.D it represents only the first step in a broader political approach, stating that its formation is ready to support a future governing structure.
Simion was asked if this approach represents the beginning of a possible government alongside P.S.D and stated that the AUR could support an executive formula that would ensure the organization of fair elections.
“I don’t dictate to anyone. And the AUR parliamentarians, and the SOS parliamentarians, and the parliamentarians CAN I come with a mandate given by the Romanians in the Parliament. It is time to listen to the voice of Romanians and not to sell ourselves. For example, if Mr. Bolojan thought it appropriate to go to the market to buy MPs, that says a lot about Mr. Bolojan. I am the president of the AUR and I respect my mandate, I respect the vote given by the Romanians.
I’ve heard of some behind the scenes games, I’m not that interested. Who is in this boat, which we started from scratch 6 years ago and took it to first place in Romanians’ preferences. I don’t think the same people without Ilia Bolojanwill produce a different result. It is time for the parliamentarians to respect the Romanians’ option and 80% of the Romanians demand that this government go home.

The AUR leader also stated that his party would be willing to support any government that would guarantee the fairness of the elections.
“We are willing to ensure any government that can ensure fair elections. We did not have fair elections, Nicușor Dan did not do his duty, he did not present the evidence about the canceled elections. Nicușor Dan’s statement that he cannot form with AUR, for us means the continuation of the coup d’état in 2024 (…) We have the duty to stop this “Ponzi Scheme”, in which we live only on loans. The first step we are taking is to pass this motion of no confidence. We want to see that everyone keeps their word (…) I can definitely say that 20% means more than 12%, so it cannot govern USRthe I understood, in the last few days, that the AUR MPs are really good guys, they are not that extremist.
