June is the month Pride Month – a celebration and tribute to the LGBTQIA+ communities. This marks Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq as part of the municipality’s work with diversity, respect and inclusion.

Among other things, they mark Pride Month by raising rainbow flags at municipal buildings, that the municipality’s logo on Facebook is set against a background of the colors of the rainbow, and that lights in the same colors are set up at the pass in Nuuk.

The marking of Pride fits into the municipality’s equality and integration policy Space for diversitywhich states that no one shall be excluded on the basis of their gender identity, sexuality, religion, age or disability.
