“When you dance, the world disappears…” Giselle has repeated this phrase all her life, but her dream of being a dancer is all or nothing of which she becomes truly aware in Barcelona, where she ends up lost after a bitter argument with her boyfriend and the theft of her bag. In it, in addition to the documentation and the telephone, he carried objects of great sentimental value. Her only reference in the city is a friend, Cuban like her, who she knows lives somewhere near the Sagrada Familia. Hoping to find him, Giselle spends three days sleeping on the streets and wandering around the basilica. The memory of her lost objects will lead her to reconstruct certain events that she never wanted to think about too much. This story is a passionate search for the place that women occupy in our time and the strength, sometimes creative and sometimes destructive, that passions have.
“Lost Objects is a beautiful, moving novel, profound beneath its apparent simplicity, desperate and hopeful at the same time, very beautifully written” (Rosa Montero). “Giselle is one of the most beautiful literary heroines of the year, endearing and authentic in her search for the truth.” (A. Cambron, La Suricate Magazine). “Karla Suárez captures the essence of lost dreams.” (JC Talavera, Excelsior).
